Living by the Pembrokeshire coast, Sarah is, perhaps unsurprisingly, influenced by the beautiful and dramatic landscape that surrounds her home. She walks the coast path or the beach in all weathers, collecting observations, sketches and photographs.

Looking out to sea, the experience of space and light is meditative and Sarah is always enthralled by the magical junctures of land, sea and sky that never appear the same twice because of the ever-changing atmospheric conditions.

For her, the qualities of colour, light and space are paramount.  This translates not just into landscape painting but into whatever she happens to be working on - regardless of medium, style or discipline.  What is important to her is that her work conveys something of the sensations of being in the landscape.  Sometimes it is calm, restorative, and spiritually uplifting; at other times wild, dynamic, rejuvenating and mentally energising.
