Elizabeth’s work has evolved over the years into a style which occupies a precarious hinterland between topography and abstraction. It evokes, often obliquely, the landscape of France as well as of Wales, and is frequently described as surreal and dreamlike.

Her ‘subject matter’ presents itself and evolves during the genesis of the work, where the action of painting itself releases memories accumulated over some 40 years of drawing from life. Elizabeth still draws nearly every day, constantly renewing her relationship with the natural world.

This spring, she has been painting bluebells - both in Pembrokeshire and in the Malvern Hills.

Work displayed at:

The Attic Gallery's Summer show, in the Maritime Centre, Swansea: preview next Friday - 5 July at 6.30 pm.

Canfas, new gallery opening in Cardigan, opposite the Castle: talk by Elizabeth - 'An Artist's Journey', Friday 16 August at 6.30 pm.

Advance notice - a new venture, the North Pembrokeshire Open Studios, opens on August 24th; Elizabeth will be available every day until 8 September, 11-4 pm.
