Friends of Oriel y Parc
Support to Oriel y Parc Landscape Gallery
c/o Oriel y Parc
The Friends of Oriel y Parc was formed in 2011 to raise the profile, support and assist Oriel y Parc Landscape Gallery, St Davids. (Oriel Tirlun Tyddewi). The Friends engage with the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority and encourage the development of the facilities afforded by the gallery. They support the continuing work of Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales, in providing collections to be viewed at Oriel y Parc on a rotational basis, and especially to maintain on display original works from the Graham Sutherland Collection (originally on show at Picton Castle).
The Friends aim to publish educational and advertising material supporting Oriel y Parc and to further the interest and involvement of the local community by supporting activities and events at the gallery in addition to those provided by the National Museum Wales and the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority.
Membership of the Friends costs just £5 (introductory rate – accurate at November 2011). Members receive newsletters and other information on the wide range of talks and events at Oriel y Parc. Friends are also eligible for special discounts in the Oriel y Parc restaurant and shop, and are able to attend all the functions and lectures as well as joining in volunteering opportunities such as helping in the gallery. Activities provided by the Friends thus far include an extensive programme of talks (ongoing), a public painting competition (more planned) and guided tours of the exhibits in the gallery.
The membership form is available on the website or from the reception at Oriel y Parc.
